Synopsis
How do we carry our grief and still find ways to continue?
How can art, memory, and collective presence offer us space to breathe, feel, and speak?
This workshop invites participants to gather around shared moments of tenderness, mourning, and resilience. With words, voices, and silences, we will attend to what aches and what heals.
Peruvian artist Eliana Otta will open the session with a presentation of the action Remembrance Waves, first performed in Sounio. Together we will watch the film documenting this poetic gesture of remembrance, followed by a discussion on the role of collective rituals and artistic acts in times of sorrow and struggle.
We will then explore and transform the poem "With the help of the sea..." through voice, writing, and listening. Participants will be invited into a gentle writing exercise after watching Powerful Sun, a short film by Otta. The session will close with a vocal improvisation and a ritual of resonance and care.
